About our founder

Noah Baird

I am a financial-focused strategist and data-driven storyteller for community development organizations, focusing on leading projects and organizations in a financially sustainable and resilient manner. I consult with mission-driven organizations through Elevated Capacity LLC to empower decision makers with accurate and adaptive financial analysis, models, and tools to endure and thrive in the constantly changing economic environment for social impact organizations. I am open to contract, fractional, or full-time employment to drive forward measurable success for all organizational stakeholders.

I am enrolled in the Baumhart Scholars MBA program at Loyola University Chicago, a program for working professions seeking to drive forward both profit and purpose. I am also pursuing Loyola’s Business Analytics Certificate, giving me additional tools and skills to leverage on behalf of organizations seeking to turn their historical data into meaningful plans and models for the future.

Previously, I served as a forensic accountant and expert witness at several professional services firms, focusing on revenue, expense, and profit modeling and valuation for construction projects and business enterprises. In these roles, I adapted to the facts of each individual case, investigated the underlying cause of economic activity, and developed complex financial models linking cash flows to specific facts and activities. In my work, I anticipated and addressed alternative scenarios, communicating my findings through written reports and verbal presentations and testimony.

I am also co-founder and board member of Better Streets Chicago, a mobility and transportation advocacy organization in Chicago and serve as its director of finance and operations. In this role, I am responsible for internal strategy, fund development, and financial procedures for the organization. Through my support, BSC continues to sustainably grow its mission and impact throughout the city of Chicago.

I hold Bachelors of Science degrees in accountancy and finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am a Certified Public Accountant, Certified in Financial Forensics, and a Certified Fraud Examiner. I have a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Not-for-Profit Certificate I from the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.
